Apprentice Accountant (AAT)

Duties
The successful candidate will be assisting a chartered accountant in the following duties:
- Accounts preparation
- VAT returns
- Payroll
- Personal Tax returns
- Bookkeeping
- Answering phone calls
- Assisting with general admin
All training will be provided.
Other information
Optional progression to Level 3 and then on to ACA to become a chartered accountant.
Working week: Mon-Fri, 9.00 -5.00pm, 37.5 hours per week.
Pay: Minimum wage for an apprentice (£5.28 for 16-18)
Annual leave entitlement: 28 days statutory entitlement which includes bank holidays
Desired Skills
- Competent Excel and Word user
- Confident communication skills demonstrated in email, formal letters, and on the telephone.
- Computer literate – in particular, able to adopt new systems and software with relative ease.
Personal qualities
Able to monitor and direct their own learning to support the needs of the business, and address any gaps in learning.
Polite attitude when dealing with clients.
Desire to have a career in accounting.
Desired Qualifications
4 x GCSE A*-C/9-4 including B’s in English and Maths.
