Thank you!

Firstly, I would like to thank our wonderful clients who have supported Xoba in it’s first year. We officially opened on 3rd December 2020 and since then we have had a productive year packed full of payroll, accounts, tax returns, and of course meeting new clients. We’ve grown our network of supporting professionals and suppliers and we’ve upgraded our systems and financial services not only to match those of major high street accounting firms, but in many cases to exceed them!

It’s been quite a whirlwind and I must admit, it has been the fastest and most rewarding year I’ve experienced.

The idea of starting a new business in the middle of lockdown made many shudder, but the lockdown presented itself with an opportunity to help small and medium sized businesses through a very difficult time. By offering high quality financial services at a much lower cost than on the high street, many of our clients have saved a significant amount of money on fees (and in tax) and have been able to stay on top of their financial requirements with ease. As a result, Xoba has grown substantially in its first year and has exceeded its original forecast.

The is fantastic news not just for Xoba, but for our clients as well, as it means we can continue to provide a first-rate service and create even more helpful resources as we grow. We can assist our clients with more complex and larger issues as their businesses also grow and evolve.

Years ago, when the concept of Xoba was in its infancy, whilst I was busy studying for my exams, I read a book on running an accountancy practice. I must admit I can’t remember the name now as there have been so many books read since then. But one passage has remained in my head all this time. I’m paraphrasing, but it was along the lines of:

“Always take especially good care of your first set of clients, they have handed you their trust and support, and they are your biggest endorsers.”

Reflecting on our first year, it’s clear to me this passage has never rung more true. As Xoba grows and changes over the years, I intend to maintain the close personal relationship I have with all of you. Whether it’s preferential fees or more one-on-one time availability, as the first set of clients Xoba has had, I hope you will feel that Xoba takes especially good care of you.

Upcoming deadline – Tax returns

As most of you know already, the deadline for personal tax returns is approaching (end of January). As such, I’ve been in touch with many of you already and will be contacting the rest very soon to follow up on any outstanding returns to make sure everyone’s is in on time.

For any questions about your tax return, please feel free to give me a call on my mobile any time.

Wishing you a Happy New Year

Finally, I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year for 2022!

I hope everyone has also had a good Christmas and has been able to spend time with loved ones despite the various restrictions and viruses (including COVID) going round this time of year.

I look forward to learning about your plans for the year ahead and assisting if I can, in any way.

So, from me (and our office mascot Lucy), best wishes for the year ahead – for you, you family, and your business.
